Good News: ‘Happiness’ exercises can boost mood in those recovering from substance use disorder

While there is so much more to be done, this new study is promising: There are easy things we can do to “significantly increase in-the-moment happiness for adults recovering from substance use disorders.”

Savoring: For example, when people were asked to describe two positive experiences they noticed and appreciated during the preceding day, it led to much higher gains in happiness.
